“We are so pleased Cottage were able to take our little boy. They provide him with everything we hoped for: a fun, loving, creative and social environment and plenty of opportunities to learn through play when he is ready”. Katherine, mother to Thomas.
“All three of my children have attended Cottage Pre-school and they all look back with very fond memories of their time there. The staff are fantastic with the children, interacting with them constantly and not afraid to look silly and have fun with them.
One of our fondest memories is of taking part in the Lewes Carnival, sitting on a float that we had all worked so hard to prepare and winning first prize. There is a real sense of community within the pre-school and this becomes evident during those occasions. The children had the most fantastic day that day.
In my opinion it is simply the loveliest Pre-school in Lewes and we were fortunate enough to have benefitted from their excellent knowledge and facilities. This has allowed our boys to move into their reception classes with ease having been prepared well for the transition by the staff.”
Claire, mother to Matthew
“My son, Cameron, was initially apprehensive about going to pre-school, but Karen and her staff worked hard to help him settle and after a few weeks he was confident about going. The staff were very caring and provided a wide range of play activities that supported learning. Karen was very positive and upbeat as manager and always smiling and engaging with the children. I would thoroughly recommend Cottage Pre-school as a safe, caring and fun pre-school environment for any child.”
Jenny, mother to Cameron
“My son Kian started Cottage in September aged just two. This was the first time we have left him with people other than family and Cottage’s settling in programme was great. Kian absolutely loves going – he has never got upset when I’ve left him and would go every day if he could.” Parent.
“Cottage is a caring and happy Pre-School. Staff make new children feel settled and confident quickly and my child has made some lovely friendships. My eldest child went to a Nursery rated ‘Outstanding’, but I chose to put Esme at the Cottage.” .Laura, mother to Esme
“Both our daughters have come to Cottage and we have been very impressed at how quickly the staff develop relationships with the children, understanding their individual personalities and needs, as well as their overall development. The range of activities is great and the garden is a real bonus – our children have particularly enjoyed being able to play outside in (almost) all weathers.”
Tasha, mother to Vivien
“My daughter has always been so happy and excited to go to Cottage Pre-School and she comes home keen to share with us what she has done that day. In my opinion, the staff have got the right priorities for those working with pre-school children: They are caring, sensitive and interested in each individual” Parent.
“When I first visited Cottage Pre-school I knew straightaway I would be happy to send my son there. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and warm and it was clear to me that the staff were genuinely interested in the children. I was keen for my son to be in a pre-school environment where the emphasis was on fun and play rather than explicit teaching and learning and this is indeed the approach taken at Cottage Pre-school. Everyday there is a different range of indoor activities and toys for the children to choose from, plus a good mix of individual and group activity. I think the staff put a lot of effort into varying the available activities. The spacious hall means there is plenty of room for the children to move around in, and also to burn off energy inside if the weather is too bad to play in the garden. My son is naturally quite reserved and I am pleased he has been allowed to integrate at his own pace rather than being forced to join in. He now really enjoys his mornings at the pre-school and I can see how he has grown in confidence as a result of his time there.”
Suzy, mother to Alexander
“…………I feel that the nursery achievies this whilst understanding the unique character of my child and offering a caring and nuturing environment. I receive plenty of information about her development.” Mother of Perla
